Château Tournebrise is located in the celebrated Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank, neighbouring the prestigious vineyards of Pomerol. The estate benefits from clay and gravel soils, ideal for Merlot, and occupies an enviable hillside position overlooking some of the region's finest terroirs. The vineyard is managed with a focus on sustainable viticulture, combining traditional Bordeaux winemaking with careful vineyard management to express the character and elegance of the appellation.

The wine is produced predominantly from Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The combination of gravel, clay and sandy soils promotes excellent ripening while retaining freshness, resulting in wines that balance richness, structure and approachability.

The 2023 vintage showcases the generosity and charm for which Lalande-de-Pomerol is renowned. Dominated by ripe Merlot fruit, the wine offers both immediate appeal and the structure to develop over the coming years. The vintage delivers freshness, vibrant fruit expression and silky tannins, while maintaining the depth and complexity expected from this highly regarded Right Bank appellation.

Tasting Note: A deep ruby-red colour introduces an inviting bouquet of blackberry, ripe plum and black cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, vanilla, liquorice and sweet baking spices. The palate is smooth and generously textured, with layers of dark berry fruit supported by supple tannins and subtle oak influence. Hints of cocoa, toasted almond and gentle spice add complexity, while a fresh core of acidity carries the wine through to a long, harmonious finish. Elegant yet approachable, this is a classic Lalande-de-Pomerol with impressive balance and poise. Enjoyable now but the wine should drink well to 2034 and beyond under good cellar conditions

Food Pairing: Perfect with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game dishes, mushroom-based recipes and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.
