2022 Simonsig Pick of the Bunch Pinotage

Simonsig Estate pioneered the planting of Pinotage in Stellenbosch and is recognised for producing some of South Africa's finest expressions of this grape.This Pinotage offers an approachable and food-friendly style.

The wine has a deep crimson red colour. On the nose, aromas of berries with subtle notes of liquorice and sweet spices also with hints of strawberry, raspberry and black cherry on the palate.  Soft, well-rounded tannins is balanced with harmonious acidity.

A versatile companion to a variety of dishes such as grilled meats like lamb, beef, or venison or spiced dishes as well as with mature cheddar or even a creamy blue cheese.
