2022 Domaine Pierre-Henri Morel Gigondas

Deep ruby-purple in colour, this expressive Gigondas opens with generous aromas of black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum, intertwined with notes of garrigue herbs, cracked black pepper, liquorice and hints of lavender. Subtle nuances of smoked meat, cocoa and warm spice add further complexity.

The palate is rich and concentrated, showcasing layers of dark berry fruit supported by supple tannins and the powerful structure typical of Gigondas. Flavours of black fruits, spice, olive tapenade and Provençal herbs unfold across a full-bodied frame, while fresh acidity brings lift and balance. The finish is long and savoury, with lingering notes of pepper, liquorice and mineral freshness.

The warm yet well-balanced 2022 vintage has produced a wine that combines Rhône generosity with elegance and precision, making it enjoyable in its youth while offering excellent ageing potential.
