Edwina and Larry Cherubino purchased their first parcel of land in Frankland River in 2004 with dreams of planting their own vineyard. It was a small parcel that had originally been part of a large, historic land holding called Riversdale. A few years later they expanded in to a neighbouring vineyard with acres of prime river and vineyard country. Their range grew and they have since been honoured to be listed as Winery Of The Year by respected wine critics such as James Halliday and Matt Skinner.
The Laissez Faire Field Blend is a blend of 44% Pinot Blanc, 25% Gewurztraminer, 15% Riesling, 8% Pinot Grigio and 8% Sauvignon Gris. Several parcels were fermented on skins for five days to provide body and texture on the wine. No additives of sulphites, acids or enzymes.
The wine with strong aromas of citrus, passionfruit, mineral and rosewater. Layers of pear, nougat, Turkish delight and citrus all work together. The palate completely dry and is soft and refined, finishing with a subtle but drying acidity.
