This is a delicious mature Rhone from the village of Cairanne. Made from a blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah. The two grapes are vinified separately, with the Syrah maturing in barrel and the grenache in large inert tanks, to retain the vibrancy. Drinking perfectly now and would happily out perforn many a Chateauneu-du-Pape!
A perfect wine to match to an oxtail stew.
"The 2019 Cairanne is redolent of blueberries and blackberries, with just enough of an earthy undercurrent to lend a savory edge. Medium to full-bodied, supple and easy to drink, with a licorice note on the finish, it may be consumed now and over the next few years."
