2016 Cru Classe Rose Rimauresque. - £17.99 or £90 for six.
With the delightful delicate peach colour we've come to expect from rose from the south of France this is a fine frolicsome drop of wine with flavours of red currents and wild red berries laced with a minerality and acidity. The great fruit flavour is a result of the longer growing season that far south and the bright acidity that balances and keeps this wine wonderfully dry is thanks to the Mistral winds cooling the vineyards. Don't pair this wine with anything other than a glass and good company!
2016 Domaine Patrick Vauvy Touraine Sauvignon Blanc Loire
I love this fine example of modern cool climate Sauvignon. Patrick is considered a little strange amongst his fellow Touraine producers as he tends to leave his fruit on the vine much longer than anyone else. The result is extra ripeness and richness in the wine but still only rocking in at a very drinkable 12.5% alcohol
£13.99 p/b, £11.89 in a mix of six and only £11.19 as part of a mixed dozen.
