2014 Avery Sauvignon Blanc, Hawkes Bay
Very pale straw with green hues. Intense aromatics of blackcurrant, nettle and green chilli. A complete palate feel with crunchy nectarine and citrus flavours carried long by lovely acidity towards a stony finish.
2014 Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc, Hawkes Bay
Pale straw colour with a green hue. Lovely aromas of citrus blossom, lime, jasmine and the faintest hint of fresh honey. Subtle flavours of fresh lime and grapefruit are balanced with a fine chalky texture that is reminiscent of the stones and limestone within the vineyard. Finishes dry, fresh and long.
2014 Te Muna Riesling, Hawkes Bay
This wine is pale straw in colour with green hues. Intense aromatics of citrus blossom and peach. Fresh and pure flavours on the palate with a lovely phenolic backbone providing length and textural interest.
2013 Kidnapper's Vineyard Chardonnay, Hawkes Bay
The 2013 Kidnappers Cliff Vineyard Chardonnay has a pronounced nose of apricots, pineapple and guava with hints of struck match and toast. It offers great concentration packed into a light to medium body, bursting with citrusy flavour and toasty nuances, and finishing long.
2011 Les Beaux Cailloux, Gimblett Gravels Vineyard, Hawkes Bay
The oak stands out a little on the youthful nose of the 2011 Les Beaux Cailloux Chardonnay before revealing notes of apricots, grapefruit, ginger and toast with a hint of almonds. Medium-bodied, the palate gives a good amount of flavor layers suggestive of the nose and has a pleasant silkiness to the texture, plus a long finish. Approachable now, it should drink to 2017+
2012 Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot Noir, Martinborough
Medium ruby in colour, the 2012 Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot noir has very pretty red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate notes over hints of violets, pepper and moss. Light to medium-bodied with just enough elegant flavour supported by chewy tannins, it finishes with good persistence.
2011 Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Syrah, Hawkes Bay (formerly Block 14)
Medium to deep garnet-purple-coloured, the 2011 Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Syrah exudes a wonderfully fragrant nose of black raspberries, mulberries and crushed blackberries with touches of violets, cedar, black pepper and Chinese five spice. Medium-bodied, the palate is intensely fruited with black and red fruit flavor accented by pepper and exotic spices, plus it is nicely framed by medium level, rounded tannins, tangy acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2020+
2011 Sophia, Gimblett Gravels Vineyards, Hawkes Bay
A blended of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2011 Sophia is medium to deep garnet-purple colour and presents a nose of warm cassis, preserved plums and blackberry compote with hints of pencil shavings, cinnamon toast, plus a touch of Mediterranean herbs. Medium-bodied and tightly knit in the mouth, it has a medium to firm level of chewy tannins and balanced acid framing the conservative fruit cone through a finish with good persistence. Drink it now to 2021+.
2013 Le Sol Syrah Gimblett Gravels Vineyards, Hawkes Bay
Deep garnet-purple coloured, the 2013 Le Sol (Syrah) has a very pretty nose of violets and red roses over a core of red and black cherries plus hints of cinnamon stick and star anise. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is beautifully crafted with elegant, perfumed red fruits supported by ripe, rounded tannins. It finishes with great length.
2013 Aroha PInot Noir Gimblett Gravels Vineyards, Hawkes Bay
Medium ruby-purple coloured, the 2013 Aroha Pinot Noir has a great core of black cherry and black raspberry notes with touches of rose petals, milk chocolate and cinnamon. Light to medium-bodied with delicate red berry and earth flavors, it has very fine tannins and balanced acid, finishing long.
