The vineyards that go into creating wines at Weingut Kiss are located on the slopes of the Leithagebirge, at around 130 metres above sea level and close to the small town of Jois. This Burgenland winery has been in the same family for four generations, with the current team managing nine hectares of vineyards planted with native varieties such as grüner veltliner, zweigelt and rheinriesling as well as international grapes including pinot blanc and chardonnay.
The vines benefit from a mild climate that averages around 2000 hours of sunshine per year, with both heat and humidity influenced by the nearby Lake Neusiedl. These factors combine to create high-quality wines with good aging potential.
