2020 C.U.N.E. Asua Crianza

You may recognise the name Asúa from the previous note – this wine from the C.V.N.E. stable is named after the founding duo, the Asúa brothers. This is a simple and easy-going style of Rioja, being a Crianza, it is only aged for a short time (between a year and 18 months in oak, and then another year in bottle prior to release) compared to Reservas and Gran Reservas (3 years and 5 years ageing prior to release respectively).

The Asúa Crianza is 100% Tempranillo and has a deliciously fruity nose of blackberries and blackcurrant, with subtle hints of liquorice spice.More of these flavours follow on to the palate with classic notes of vanilla and redcurrant, with soft tannins and good acidity. This is the perfect wine for pair with all manner of tapas and light meals, and is equally at home next to a hearty beef stew as it is next to a slice of your favourite pizza.
