2024 Domaine Skouras Peplo Rose

This is one of the most dynamic and exciting rosés that we have tasted in years. A truly Provencal style.

The young and very talented Demitri Skouras studied wine for 5 years in Toulouse and adores French styles. The wine has a gorgeous lightness of colour and a salinity that is to die for. The acidity is perfect. From high altitude fruit in the Peloponnese, he has created a masterpiece. Everything that made Provence so famous is in this beauty! Just 15,000 bottles are produced each year and we have just under 1,000 of them. Be one of the first to buy this piece of summer. It's the first time that this wine has been shipped to the UK. 1/3 Agiorgitiko, 1/3 Syrah, 1/3 Moscofilero. The Syrah ages on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, the Agiorgitiko in Acacia barrels and the Moscofilero in egg shaped amphoras with skin contact for 4 months.

At the end of its maturation the fabric helps us to make the separation of the young wine from the skins. All vineyards are above 600m of altitude.

Tasting: Pale, brilliant colour, the soft coral with red gold hues. Intense and fresh on the nose with aromas of strawberry, white flowers, such as violet and rose petals, coupled with lemon citrus, grapefruit and a hint of minerality. On the palate, it has a medium body, nerve and acidity, structure and complexity, coming from acacia and clay. Flavours are consistent with aromas while the finish is long with developing flavours.
