While less widely known that its neighbours such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, the coastal Swartland is one that produces some really excellent wines. The unique terroirs of the area, and the fact that many producers here favour older vines, means that the area tends to be known for characterful wines across both red and white varieties.
