2023 Alemany i Corrio Pas Curtei

From their base in the town of Vilafranca del Penedès, partners Irene and Laurent are challenging traditional perceptions of DO Penedès wine. Committed to organic viticulture, they have long since abandoned all forms of chemical treatments and fertilizers, and have a similar contempt for the area’s traditionally high yields. Within their modest cellar, which in part they built themselves, production remains reassuringly small. 

This is a blend of Merlot 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20% and Cariñena 20%. These are fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 14 months in 228l French oak barrels.

Tasting Note: This Bordeaux-esque wine is jam-packed full of mouthwatering black fruits with beautiful soft tannins. Intense, moreish with crunchy fruit and plenty of length on the finish.
