Muses Estate

When Nikos, Stelios and Panayiotis established Muses Estate in 2005, they became the third generation to immerse themselves in their family history of winemaking.

The trio brought a fresh set of ideas, along with scientific knowledge and skills, to their new company, embedding these alongside experience gained from their forefathers to create a modern winery for the 21st century.

The family’s winemaking story started in 1946, when Nikolaos Zaharias fulfilled his lifelong dream of founding a winemaking facility in his village. This then passed down to his son Athanasios, who transformed the small winery into a modern business with contemporary ideas, a new wine press, fresh vines and the estate’s first bottling machine.

Building on the work of past generations, Muses Estate has brought in added technology including bottling machines that can cope with 3000 bottles per hour and a 10-ton pre-fermentation cold soaking tank intended to draw out every bit of colour and flavour from the grapes. A customised Enterprise Resource Planning system allows the team to keep a keen eye on all aspects of production and ensure great quality across the range.
