Mount Riley that goes well with Vegetarian

Located in Marlborough · New Zealand

Marlborough winery Mount Riley was established in 1992, when owner John Buchanan decided to strike out on his own after leaving a job at one of the country’s largest wineries.

As a fifth-generation Marlborough citizen, John was keen to remain in the area and set up his winery there. The company now owns 10 vineyards in Marlborough alongside the winery, which is five miles south of Blenheim.

Mount Riley has become a true family winery – John works alongside daughter Amy (a former lawyer who now manages winery operations) and her husband Matt, who transferred here after seven years as winemaker at Craggy Range.

This is a winery with a real independent spirit, and a sense of collective hard work that goes into craft exceptional wines. The cool climate and long growing season of the Marlborough region produce grapes with fresh and bright fruit flavours, and the diversity of the vineyards means the team can select carefully to showcase the region’s unique qualities with each vintage.
