Le Grappin

Located in Beaujolais · France

The focus of Le Grappin is to seek out the hidden gems – those growers producing excellent grapes in corners of the Burgundy area that may be undervalued or overlooked by other winemakers.

Owners Emma and Andrew Nielsen make a point of trying to find growers who devote great care to their fruits and bring out their very best qualities. In return, the Nielsens continue the process by painstakingly handcrafting wines, working with small batches and drawing the full potential out of the grapes.

The company was established in 2011, after Andrew decided to settle down after five years travelling around wineries in Australia, New Zealand, California and France, gaining experience from some of the world's top chardonnay and pinot noir producers.

The Nielsens create their wines at an ancient winery within the walls of Beaune, producing a main collection and a series of fun ‘vins de soif’ for everyday drinking – all the wines in both collections are bright and full of personality.
