2020 Henners Gardner Street Bacchus Chardonnay

2020’s lovely summer produced Bacchus of perfect ripeness, making up 85% of this blend. The balance is barrel-fermented Chardonnay from the best of Henners’ Wealden Clay vineyards. The classic floral, elderflower notes of English Bacchus is there, alongside some rounder stone fruit from the Chardonnay, some fennel and succulent red apple, finishing with brisk acidity. A versatile wine, excellent with cider-braised pork, creamy sauces cut with tangy capers, or a vegetable lasagne.
