In a railway arch in Battersea, south London, lives Blackbook Winery, an urban winery that’s proud of its London roots.
Born out of a love for the English wine industry and, more specifically, cool-climate chardonnays and pinot noirs, the winery’s ambition is a simple one: to make damn good wines. The focus remains on these two main varieties, but other types are sourced each year to help the winemakers keep their skills fresh through new experiments.
Grapes are sourced from growers based within a few hours of the capital, all selected for their quality grapes and excellent location. The hard work of the vineyard owners is reflected in a range of single-vineyard wines that showcase the world-class quality of England’s still wines.
