2019 Domaine La Prade Mari Secret de Fontenille

The Secret de Fontenille is made from Grenache 40%, Syrah 20% Carignan 40%.  The Syrah and Grenache vines are between 5 and 21 years but the Carignan is over 40 years and really makes this wine stand out.  Rich dark red fruits, with touches of smoke and wild garrigues.  On the palate, the wine has a lovely depth, dark red fruit, a lovely weight and good length.  Great with a simple meal of grilled Toulouse sausage.

Domaine la Prade Mari is located in the south of France, in the Hérault region east of the Minervois, between Carcassonne, Béziers and Narbonne. The vineyards, located mainly around the hamlet of La Prade, are primarily south and south-east facing.

Catherine and Laurent, Eric Mari's parents, have both been from winemaking families for over 200 years. Settled on the Languedoc coast, they went to live in Algeria before returning to France in 1964 and founded Domaine la Prade Mari. Nowadays, Eric Mari runs the estate his parents founded.

The Domaine has been certified bio-dynamic since 2013.
