2021 Andre van Rensburg Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

For those of you unaware of Andre’s background, he has been the winemaker at Vergelegen in Stellenbosch since 1998 and instead of retiring at 60 (a policy that all Vergelegen employees are obliged to follow on their 60^th birthday) Andre instead released this wine and a red blend, both sourced, from some of the best sites on the Vergelegen farm. He is considered by Richard Kelly MW to be 'the greatest winemaker in the world'.

A blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a small portion of Semillon, barrel fermented. Drinking well now, but would benefit from further maturation and should still be drinking well into the next decade.
