2010 Vieux Graves Rouge

Dominique Havelan bought the vineyards at Vieux Ch‰teau Gaubert in 1981 and followed up by buying the run-down 18th century ch‰teau itself in 1988. Both were renovation projects and wisely Dominique concentrated on replanting plots of the 16 hectares of vines and building a 1,000 barrel winery before taking on the house.

This is made from 50% split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A classic Bordeaux savoury red, rich and dark in colour with aromas of red and black fruits, smoky and toasted notes and hints of spice. An abundance of fruit on the palate with a velvety texture, well balanced and structured with a medium to long finish.

Excellent with Beef, Venison and game dishes.
