Join us for our monthly exploration into the wine world.
Nestled near the Swiss border of Eastern France and only 50 miles from Burgundy lies the Jura - the smallest (only 2000 hectares) wine district in France, famous for the creation of vin jaune or 'yellow' wine, oxidised in a similar way to sherry. French chemist Louis Pasteur was born and raised in the Jura region and owned a vineyard near Arbois that is still producing wine today.
From red to rosé, sparkling to dessert wines, the wines of Jura are as varied as the cultural and culinary heritage of the region and pair perfectly with their other famous export - Comté cheese!
The tasting will be served with sharing platters of cheese and charcuterie plus nibbles and bread.
Starting at 7.30pm running until 9.30pm at The Tasting Rooms, 38 Church Street, Reigate. RH2 0AN.
