Steeped in a history dating back to 1692, the Lanzerac Wine Estate, home to the first bottled Pinotage, is situated at the foot of the majestic Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch. Cellar Master Wynand Lategan has been in charge of making the Lanzerac range of award-winning wines since 2005. Together with his team the range has been honed to maintain the excellent quality that Lanzerac has become known for. Since 2012 Lanzerac vineyards have been undergoing extensive new vineyard developments, as well as eradicating old (virus-infected) vineyards, with the biggest increase in Pinotage and Chardonnay plantings. These new plantings and vineyard changes will see the quality of the wines continue to increase over the next few years.

2022 Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc
Ideal for those looking for a half-way house Sauvignon between the Loire sauvignons of France and the very aromatic examples from Marlborough. It's crisp, refreshing and boasts generous aromas of green fruits and white peaches in a perfect fruit-acid balance. A fresh lemongrass mouth feel with subtle minerality is rounded off by a soft creaminess in the long finish due to extended lees contact.

2022 Lanzerac Chardonnay
This is our best value Chardonnay that has a lovely balanced, full-bodied style and is not afraid of the gentle embrace of oak. This Chardonnay showcases prominent primary citrus aromas on the nose followed by a complexity of flavours including lemon, clover, ginger and vanilla. The palate reveals an excellent balance between fruit, acidity and softness with a lingering aftertaste.

2021 Lanzerac Mrs English Chardonnay
Sourced from a single vineyard in the Jonkershoek Valley, the Mrs English is a complex wine with an abundance of citrus flavours on the nose, a full palate and lingering aftertaste. Great care is taken during the blending process to ensure a wine with impeccable balance, character, poise and deliverance.

2019 Lanzerac Syrah
Aroma of white pepper, coriander, fynbos and savoury undertones are prominent. A velvety palate with berries being dominant. Serve with leg of lamb, lamb shanks and grilled ribeye steak.

2021 Lanzerac Merlot
This appetizing wine has everything a Merlot-lover could want, and more. The 2021 Merlot has an excellent deep red colour, with ripe red berries, cocoa, slight mint and chocolate on the nose. On the palate the wine shows a well-balanced tannin structure, rich body with fruit and a lingering aftertaste.

2020 Lanzerac Pinotage
Nobody’s been bottling Pinotage longer than Lanzerac and this wine shows a wealth of experience with this proudly South African variety. The 2020 Pinotage boasts an excellent deep colour, ripe berries and plums on the nose and palate with a good mouth-feel and lingering aftertaste. With 5 to 10 years’ maturation this wine will start to acquire the velvet density and luxurious chocolate and caramel flavours of its very early Lanzerac predecessors. A full-bodied, complex wine with a beautiful balance between fruit and wood showcasing a good tannin structure that will allow it to age extremely well.
