Sottano wines are made high up in the Mendoza plateau with the winery's Italian roots celebrated at every step. Founded four generations ago, they are superb at what they do - taking the grapes of the region and making fine wine out of them. They aim for a mid-point between brash and bold US styles and the more restrained and refined European intellectualism – and achieve it.
This is an excellent example of a good Argentinian Malbec. A deep red in the glass, with notes of raspberries and strawberries as well as black fruits and spices such as pepper. Its attractive finale and body is given by its good structure and vibrant tannins.
Sottano’s winery is located in Perdriel, in the foothills of the Andes mountains and part of the Mendoza wine-growing region.
