In love with the wines of the South-West, Lionel Osmin et Cie was established produce a range of wines signature of South-West France. From Jurançon to Cahors, from Gaillac to Bergerac via Marcillac, the characteristics of their wines stay true to the appellations. Nestled among the meanders of the Lot river, the native land of Malbec, sits Lionel Osmin & Cie's Cahors vineyards.
After the Malbec grapes are harvested, they go through a pre-fermentation cold maceration to extract aromas and tannins from the grape skin. After fermentation the wine spends 12 months ageing, partly in oak, to obtain silky tannins. The wine is deep, dark crimson. Notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, cinnamon, liquorice, vanilla and cocoa. Soft and velvety on the palate with a long, rich finish. This wine can age for a further 5 years and is a great wine pairing for mushrooms, game meats, steak, mature cheeses and truffle.
