Isabelle Gauthier has taken over the family domaine and started bottling the wine for the first time. Previously this fine, substantial estate sold the entire crop as grapes, juice or wine to the big Beaune négociants. With a splendid array of vineyards centred on Fontenay adjoining the grands crus, it is not surprising that Isabelle is quickly gaining a fine reputation for her carefully vinified range of wines. Her 2020s are the best yet; beautiful examples of pure, crisp, unoaked Chardonnay.
