2019 Chenin Blanc David & Nadia Swartland

The main David & Nadia Chenin Blanc has found its groove as the perfect allrounder. A blend of seven vineyards, predominantly granite based, but with some shale and schist from the east, clay rich soils from the north and iron rich soils from the west of the Swartland, with plantings ranging from 1962-1984, it is a true representation of the varied terroirs of the Swartland. The wine has a Certified Heritage Vineyards (CHV) seal and forms part of the Old Vine Project (OVP). Tightly packed at the moment, it offers up notes of lemongrass, honey and apple with a dazzling saline quality and hints of wild herbs. Whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented and matured for 11 months in old neutral French oak barrels.
