Quinta do Pinto is in the DOC Alenquer appellation, in the heart of the IG Lisbon Wine Region. It is located 60km Northeast from the capital Lisbon city and only 25km from the Atlantic Ocean. The 63 hectares of gently drained slopes of vineyard are facing south, sheltered from northern winds by the Montejunto Mountain and enriched by the Atlantic Ocean breeze.
This Portuguese red is a blend of Touriga Nacional (40%), Aragonez (40%) and Castelao (20%). After the wine is blending, it is aged for 3 years in cement to keep the freshness of fruit. There is a rich aroma of red fruits and floral notes, perfectly married with subtle notes of spices. Elegant, fruity and fresh on the palate. It has round and well-polished tannins, making it a complex wine with a long and persistent finish.
A little way north of Lisbon sits Quinta do Pinto, a beautiful estate where vineyards surround an elegant 17th-century manor house and traditional wine cellar. Fifth-generation agriculturalist Antonio Cardoso Pinto acquired the estate in 2003, aiming to draw out the best of the land’s potential for winemaking.
