Bottled from a selection of barrels from across Luminous Hills vineyard: both volcanic and sedimentary soils, varying elevations, the many aspects from southwest to southeast, and the varied clones – the “big picture” of the vineyard built for balance and aging, but also for broader accessibility. The 2018 vintage was the smallest production ever, just five barrels (actually, half each of ten different barrels to get the broadest expression of the vineyard). The result from the careful selection of barrels and unique qualities of the vintage is a wine with impeccable balance and range, fruit and spice, power and depth, elegance and grace.
92 points - James Suckling: “This has a very rich array. of ripe. red and dark-cherry aromas with a spiced-pastry edge and gentle, wild-herb notes. The palate offers a succulent and supple feel with a smooth array of fresh, bright and ripe berries, set in silky, smooth and fine tannins. A delightful pinot. Drink now.”
