This family Domaine is now in its 12th generation. Jean Trimbach is their brand ambassador (and he is very good!), whilst brother Pierre Trimbach is in the vineyard and cellar, ably helped by his son and father too – this really is a family affair.
As Jean said, this is a wine for "gluck, gluck, gluck" as he mimed up-ending a bottle. I am not sure they have a legally enforceable "drink responsibly" campaign in Alsace but the spirit he captured was that this is a wine to be enjoyed at any time. It is more generous on the palate than the Reisling and Gewurztraminer. With notes of soft yellow quince and lines of white pepper, this is a fantastic "food-matcher" be it foie gras (Jean is also not very food PC either) or turbot. The wine is delicious.
