Catherine and Laurent, Eric Mari's parents, have both been from winemaking families for over 200 years. Settled on the Languedoc coast, they went to live in Algeria before returning to France in 1964 and founded Domaine la Prade Mari. Nowadays, Eric Mari runs the estate his parents founded.

Located in the Hérault part of the Minervois between Carcassonne, Béziers and Narbonne, the vineyard is planted on south and southeast clay loam slopes of eroded "mourels" in the middle of a sea of Mediterranean scrubland, Aleppo pines and olive trees.

The Gourmandise des Bois is, as the name suggests, a wine all about Plenty. Made from Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre.  Rich and complex wine on the nose and mouth, with notes of spices, mocha, cocoa, and vanilla pod. The mouth is round and structured, with sweet, vanilla and chocolate notes, with good length. This is not a wine to be rushed, hurried or confronted!
