This family Domaine is now in its 12th generation. Jean Trimbach is their brand ambassador (and he is very good!), whilst brother Pierre Trimbach is in the vineyard and cellar, ably helped by his son and father too – this really is a family affair.
This wine is on the list of every ***Michelin Restaurant in France and I have loved this wine in it's many different vintages, even having a half bottle on the day I proposed to my wife in at Chez Bruce, many eons ago!
This is cheaper than an average Puligny Montrachet or Meursault yet it is undeniably GRAND CRU in quality. It tasted magnificent, deep, complex with both a sense of beauty and refinement, yet also of generosity, complexity and with a wonderful sense of depth and gravitas.
It will keep for up to 30-50 years but drinks very nicely now.
I genuinely can't think of any other region in the world that produces wines of such quality at these prices.
