For more than four generations the Coursodon family have been making exceptional Saint Joseph from their 16 hectares of organic vineyards surrounding the town of Mauves. In the past ten years Pierre’s son, Jérôme, has taken this famous estate to new heights. Lower yields, later picking and 100% destemming have contributed to increased richness and purity in the red wines, whilst the white Saint Josephs are some of the finest expressions of the marsanne grape variety.
More of the red wines are now being aged in 600 litre casks
rather than the traditional, smaller (225 litre) barrels in order to maximise the fruit flavours.
In 2017, the dry summer reduced the crop by 25% resulting in a splendid range of dense, concentrated wines that have both the structure of 2015 and the freshness of 2016.

"100% Marsanne planted on clay and granite soils. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. Lovely, generous wine with masses of fresh fruit and a crisp, mineral finish. Drink 2019-2021."
Charles Taylor MW, March 2019
