Australian Warramate

Located in Yarra Valley · Australia

Warramate Wines was established in 1970 as a small independently owned vineyard in the Yarra Valley. It was this spot that Jack and June Church settled on for their dream vineyard after an extensive search eventually led them to this area of Victoria.

Wine-growing in this area was still in its infancy at this time – when Jack and June planted their first vines here in 1969, the nearby vineyards of Yarra Yering and Yeringberg were only just starting up, and it would be several years before they were joined by the likes of Mount Mary and Coldstream Hills.

The Warramate site is on a north-facing slope with stunning views over the central Yarra Valley, in an ideal spot for growing Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The hand-tended and non-irrigated vines produce distinctive wines with excellent depth and intensity.
