Brothers Josep and Marcel are the fourth generation to run the Sabaté i Coca estate; it was their father, Marcelino, who developed the old winemaking facilities in the 18th-century farmhouse into a modern winery, while also preserving certain features for a wine museum.

The site in Penedès, between the villages of Torrelavid and Sant Pere de Riudebitlles, now covers 40 hectares of organic vineyard, with an astonishing 18 different types of soil. Each plot is vinified separately to draw out the best individual characters, and the family uses only grapes grown on the estate to produce their range of still and sparkling wines.

The current production capacity of the winery is around 200,000 bottle per year, of which around 70% is sparkling wine. The team here are keen to involve customers in their wine on a deeper level, so they also offer visitors a tour that goes beyond the usual offerings, allowing guests to join in with vineyard and cellar tasks to gain a deeper appreciation of the process.
