Penedes by White

Catalonia’s Penedès wine region is most well known for its sparkling wine, but this area is also home to a diverse range of grapes that go into reds, whites and dessert wines. The sparklers are definitely worth a try, though – they offer an excellent combination of distinctive flavours and great value.

The area’s potential for wine-growing was identified many centuries ago, when the Phoenicians set up the region’s first vineyards. That makes this one of the world’s oldest wine-producing areas, which still maintains a focus on the native grapes that thrive in this Mediterranean climate.
