Sauvignon Blanc Plantagenet

Plantagenet Wines is known as a pioneer of the Great Southern wine area, and a place that produces distinctive, expressive and elegant wines. Its rich heritage and family-owned ethos have led to it developing a reputation as one of Australia’s most trusted wine brands.

The winery's estate has been established on the region’s distinctive marri soils – gravelly, sandy loams with a clay base named after the native marri (red gum) trees that grow here. Vineyard plots were set up in the areas with good water drainage (one of the most important elements for top-quality fruit).

In general, irrigation can be kept to a minimum here, used sparingly to supplement natural rainfall and build the vines’ resilience. The estate’s excellent terroir leads to wines of outstanding quality and character.
