Joe at East Molesey Picks... by Martinez Lacuesta

It’s always the old influences for me. I grew up with a family that regarded Cotes-du-Rhone as being a bit interesting, so my first real exposure to good wine was while excavating a Roman villa just by Ostia…..which gave me a taste for Barolo, Barbaresco, or Brunello – basically anything red, Italian and beginning with a B!

After getting into the wine trade I did a harvest out in Burgundy and caught that bug – I love excellent Pinot Noir– and the Julg is a brilliant wine.  Good Chardonnay is always something I’m on the lookout for, both crisp and mineral or rich and welcoming.
