Clos Bagatelle from Languedoc

Located in Languedoc · France

The coat of arms of Clos Bagatelle features a woman in armour, and it’s a fitting image for a winery that has been run by five generations of women. The winery, based in the Languedoc region in the south of France, was founded in 1623 and is currently run by Christine Deleuze, who took over from her mother and works alongside her brother.

The word bagatelle has a double meaning, referring both to a small estate and a kind of acrobatic trick – again it’s a suitable representation for a winery that aims to balance hard work and enjoyment of life to produce their wines, which are produced from grapes grown on the estate using a mix of traditional and modern techniques.
