This Pinot Noir comes from the youngest vines on the estate planted in 2008. This block was planted in a much higher density to create their own little micro climate and also allow each vine to put all its effort into the small number of bunches it is producing. At Mountford Estate, they create wines of character and quality through a policy of watchful, non-interventionist winemaking. A combination of new and traditional techniques and technology are used.

On the nose this wine has aromas of rich leather, indian spices and black cherries. While on the palate it is earthy with a light smokiness matched with refreshing Black Doris plum. It has a well-balanced acidity which gives it great length and ageing potential.

"Fresh, bright, high-energy pinot noir with cherry, red berry, fresh herb, spice and anise flavours. A distinctive wine from the greener end of the ripeness spectrum supported by refreshing acidity" Bob Campbell MW, Jun 2020
