Californian Dreaming.
2010 Karma Cabernet Sauvignon, Vina Robles, Paso Robles
£14.99 or £70 for 6
The Cabernet Sauvignon is selected from well drained vineyards on cool rolling hills in Paso Robles. The vineyards receive plenty of mid-day heat and cool evening breezes to produce balanced grapes. The California Karma Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and full wine with youthful, juicy fruit aromas. This wine finishes off balanced with soft tannins and a fleshy mouth feel. Enjoy this Cabernet along with some grilled meat or your favourite pasta dish
2012 Handley Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, California
£24.99 or £200 for 12 - that's only £16.66/bt!
Handley are a small family domaine, based in the Anderson valley in Mendocino. The climate here is cooler than the majority of California, so it is perfectly adapted to producing more elegant restrained wines rather than the blockbusters found in lower warmer areas. This is also reflected in the grapes they grow. Such a lovely appealing nose - cherry that’s ever so slightly stewed, rhubarb, a slightly peppery note, and leading to a well integrated palate, which has wild strawberry, soft and silky tannins, balanced acidity and a smooth finish. Delightful stuff.
